The first session is usually 1 - 1.25 hr and we move through assessments. This look like us having a conversation about not only your challenges, but about what makes you YOU and things you enjoy. All subsequent sessions are casual and based on your goals…or even what made you mad/excited/confused during the week.

Absolutely not. Your behaviors are an adaptive response for your system. I do not require clients to stop engaging in behaviors to work with me. Depending on severity and impact to daily living, a higher level of care may be recommended to ensure safety. For clients appropriate for outpatient care, we work together to explore the utility of your behaviors and explore alternatives that can be ADDED in as we slowly decrease use of behaviors.

While eating disorders are my specialty, I work with clients with a variety of mental health challenges, including ADHD, ASD (level 1 support), anxiety, depression, OCD, identity challenges, life transitions, and more.

Going to higher level of care is a big decision and one I work hard to support clients through. I have contacts at a variety of treatment centers and work collaboratively with clients to find the best fit.
If there are barriers to attending a higher level of care, I work close with clients to establish a care team that can best support their needs.

Yes, I highly value collaborative care! If a client has an existing provider, a release of information can signed for consultation. I also have a network of referral partners (dietitians, primary care providers, psychiatrists/psychiatric nurse practitioners, neuropsychological testing providers) to connect with any client needing additional support.

I offer 15- to 20-minute free consults for all potential clients, via phone, video call, or in-person at my Carmel office. This is a great time to bring any questions or concerns, and an opportunity to determine if we’d be a good fit working together.
